Interview Forsaken Profits

Forsaken Profits, born in 2012 with vocalist Tyler Capehart and guitarist Bryan Kyle, unleashes a rebellious punk spirit inspired by '80s action, '70s exploitation, and modern twists. Experience their cosmic gumbo and chaotic live performances, anticipating two new albums in 2024.

1. Forsaken Profits, your raw and energizing sound embodies the rebellious spirit of punk. How did the band come together, and what inspired you to channel this rebellious energy into your music?
Forsaken established in 2012 by vocalist Tyler Capehart and guitarist Bryan Kyle. Our inspiration that fuels our rebellious energy is drawn directly from the punk and metal bands we grew up with. 

2. Your music draws influence from early punk bands, infusing gritty guitar riffs, pounding drum beats, and passionate vocals. How do you approach blending these classic punk elements with your unique style to create the signature Forsaken Profits sound?
It's a cosmic mix of action of the '80s combined with the exploitation films of the 70's, but with modern touches. It's hyperviolence, but it knows what it is. It's a bit Tarantino, definitely a bit Michael Mann. It's sort of a cosmic gumbo. It almost moves to the beat of jazz. 

3. "Resist" is a powerful anthem that resonates with listeners, showcasing your unwavering spirit. Can you share the inspiration behind this track and how it reflects your perspective on challenging social expectations?
Revolution is the major inspiration behind "Resist" No gods. No Masters. It is time for the blind to open their eyes to a new perspective. 

4. "Jizzapointment" is a high-octane track that captures your distinctive ferocity. How does the band balance scorching guitar solos and persistent drumming to maintain the relentless energy characteristic of punk rock?

5. Your songs, such as "F.W.C." and "Backstabbing Bastard," are catchy punk rock tunes that exude anxiety and resentment. How do you approach songwriting to infuse these emotions into your music, and what themes typically inspire your lyrics?

Our songwriting is influenced by our experiences within life. Inspiration for our lyrics can be found within the good, bad, and ugly aspects of humanity.  

6. "Destroy the Evidence," your 2019 album, made a significant impact. Can you delve into the themes explored in the album and how it contributed to Forsaken Profits' evolution in the punk rock scene?

Once upon a time we were on tour and a promoter invited us to stay at his house after the gig. In the morning he woke up and insisted we "Destroy The Evidence" He would not let us leave until we finished all the liquor/beer at his establishment. The album artwork was shot in Asheville, North Carolina on a Half-pipe built out of bamboo. We hit the road after we released "DTE" and never looked back. Our evolution can be credited to our experiences on tour. 

7. With tracks like "Forsaken Pleasures" and "DIY or Die," you've consistently delivered powerful punk anthems. How do you see your songwriting and sound evolving over the years, and what principles guide your approach to creating impactful punk rock music?
Like a fine bourbon, we get better with age

8. Forsaken Profits' live performances are known for inspiring frenetic energy and creating a connection with the audience. How do you translate the intensity of your music into a captivating live experience, and what can fans expect from your live shows?
We play DIY shows and pour every ounce of chaos within each performance. 

9. Looking ahead, what are the future plans for Forsaken Profits? Are there any upcoming projects, collaborations, or tours that fans can anticipate?

In 2024 we are releasing TWO new albums that we just finished recording. Tour announcements will be released soon. Turn on, tune in, drop out.
