Paul Di'Anno, the original vocalist of Iron Maiden, passed away at the age of 66 in his home in Salisbury, England. Known for his contributions to the band's early sound, Di'Anno sang on their first two albums, Iron Maiden (1980) and Killers (1981), before being replaced by Bruce Dickinson in 1981. His raw, punk-influenced style was a key element in shaping Iron Maiden’s early identity.

After leaving Iron Maiden, Di'Anno continued his career with bands like Battlezone and Killers, and worked on various solo projects. Despite struggling with significant health issues in his later years, which forced him to perform in a wheelchair, he remained active in the music scene, performing over 100 shows in 2023. His final release, a retrospective album titled The Book of the Beast, came out in September 2024, highlighting his post-Iron Maiden career.

Di'Anno's legacy remains significant, as his voice and stage presence played a crucial role in the formative years of one of heavy metal's most influential bands. His passing marks the end of an era for fans of classic Iron Maiden and heavy metal as a whole
